Position Information:

Boone County Family Resources is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Full Time Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in a friendly and vibrant work environment. We are looking for a reliable and organized individual who is detail-oriented to join our busy office staff. If you have exceptional organizational, clerical, and communication skills and a drive to work in a fast-paced environment then you may be the perfect fit. You must be capable of prioritizing tasks and working with a high level of efficiency and accuracy. You should be able to communicate professionally and have strong customer service skills.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist’s primary duties are:

  • Prepare and deposit all incoming funds to their proper accounts and record in accounting software
  • Prepare and send monthly invoices
  • Monitor and follow up on all Accounts Receivable past due balances
  • Process numerous Medicaid billings and other billings through state and local funding sources
  • Reconcile and review all Medicaid billings for corrections and accurate payment
  • Communicate with internal staff regarding Medicaid eligibility issues and payment rejections
  • Maintain and review Social Security Benefits and wage assessments of approximately 34 individuals served in the Boone County Family Resources Supported Living program, which may include but not limited to, Medicaid Re-Investigations, Social Security Work Activity Reports, and Social Security Year End Reports
  • Maintain accurate data for monthly reports to management

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.

Be proficient in computer use including scanners, Excel, Word, data entry, and email.

Analytical skills

Must be detail-oriented, meticulous, and logical in your work, capable of prioritizing tasks, work with a high level of efficiency and accuracy, and work independently as well as with a team

Be able to communicate professionally and have strong customer service and strong problem-solving skills

Have at least one year of related experience.

 

Preferred skills:

Intermediate-level user of Microsoft Excel

Experience with Sage MIP Accounting Software

Experience with Social Security requirements

Experience with Medicaid eligibility

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Potential remote work time available for up to 2 days a week, after completing an introductory period.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $19.73 - $29.59 /hour dependent on experience

Eligible for merit-based raises at 6 months, 1 year, and annually thereafter.
